Udayani Social Action Forum

Udayani is ever growing. The present building where we have our head office is almost 80 years old and we are in the process of reconstruction. The official permission from Kolkata Municipal Corporation is received. You can see the proposed building plan on the right side. Hopefully the building will be ready in another 2 years time.

Once the new building is constructed the head office will have the following facilities:

Ø A well furnished library and a reading room for researchers and interested persons.
Ø Seminar rooms and a conference hall for training and meetings.
Ø Offices for different departments of the Centre
Ø A Primary school for the street and pavement children

Udayani plans to start various departments/cells such as Research, documentation and publication; Human Rights; Training and Animation; women; Tribal; Education etc.,

Udayani also plans to become a platform for the People's Movements and Organizations to acquire their rights.

Udayani presently has 2 Extension centres in Kalna (Burdwan Dist) and Jhantipahari (Bankura Dist). It plans to open more extension centres in south 24 Parganas, Hoogly and Midnapore Districts too. In a few months time we plan to open the extension centre in south 24 Parganas, in a place called Raghabpur.
